The Story of RUZIMA
RUZIMA Boutique began when Wan Ruzima Wan Abdullah took over a family business of batik supply in 1994. Her family's business STR Sdn Bhd has been in the batik industry ever since she was a child and she was invited to take over and became one of the Board of Directors of STR Sdn Bhd for ten years. Prior to this, she worked as a Valuation Officer for two years in Kuala Terengganu as she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Property Management & Valuation from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
After years of managing and becoming an expert in the batik industry, Wan Ruzima started her own brand, Ruzima Collection, in 2015. The first retail outlet was a shop lot in Kuala Terengganu at Primula Beach Hotel, which now has expanded to a second shop lot at Duyong Marina Resort. Ruzima Collection began producing handmade Terengganu Batik craft and supplying raw materials. In 2019, she roped in her children to help manage the business and rebranded Ruzima Collection to RUZIMA in 2020. RUZIMA then went for the online market to expand its opportunities. It was in 2021 then RUZIMA expanded its product line to ready-to-wear apparel and gifts and souvenirs for corporate and events.
